The reason was simple.
My visibility had collapsed.
Search appearances had fallen dramatically.
Profile views were down.
Engagement had slowed.
Enquiries had almost disappeared.

Like many professionals, I initially assumed the issue was the algorithm.
It wasn’t.
It was my profile.
Since updating my profile, LinkedIn has already reported a 22% increase in search appearances.
Not viral.
Not life changing.
But moving in exactly the right direction.

Why?
Because LinkedIn needs to understand three things:
🟩 Who you are
🟩 What you do
🟩 Who should find you
My profile was no longer answering those questions clearly enough.

The changes were not cosmetic. I strengthened:
✔ Headline positioning
✔ Professional branding
✔ Keyword relevance
✔ Service alignment
✔ Audience targeting
✔ Profile consistency
✔ Industry terminology
✔ Search optimisation
✔ Value proposition clarity
✔ Content alignment

The result?
LinkedIn now has a clearer understanding of:
• The services I provide
• The audience I help
• The problems I solve
• The conversations I should appear in
Many people focus on posting more content.
Sometimes the biggest opportunity is making sure your profile is working properly first.

Your profile is your foundation.
Every search appearance, profile view, connection request, enquiry and opportunity starts there.

The lesson?
Visibility is rarely a content problem.
More often, it is a positioning problem.

I’m only a few weeks into the changes, so it will be interesting to see what happens over the next 30, 60 and 90 days.

For now, the early indicators suggest the optimisation work is doing exactly what it
